The goalkeeper of the football club "Ufa", who was recognized by the fans as the best player of the team four times, will play against Moscow "Dynamo" in the first game of the second round of the Russian Championship on March 8.

Why did you choose the goalkeeper role?
To be honest, I started with martial arts - following the example of my older brother: he is also an athlete, the champion of Russia in taekwondo, was a member of the country's Olympic team. As a child, I followed him everywhere, and when he took the little one with him into the yard, he put me right in the carriage instead of a barbell when they played ball. So, maybe in this way he gave me the way to goalkeeper's craft. And already at the age of eight, I myself decided that football fascinates me more than other sports. I chose the goalkeeper position because I never liked running, and I still hate it. I like more prompts, lead somewhere and read the game.

Many athletes say that the price to be paid for success is the absence of childhood. This is true?
A person who wants to achieve heights in his business always sacrifices time. Until the age of seventeen, I did not know at all what a disco was or just walks with friends in the evenings. I had a tough regimen: getting up at half past five in the morning, half an hour for training camps - and it's time to go to the first training session. On the way there, you read something in textbooks, prepare for lessons, then a two-hour goalkeeper training session - and you have to go to school. After school, lunch, at the same time you start doing your homework, then you go to a team training session, after that again individual lessons for goalkeepers - acrobatics, stretching, and it's already evening. So I didn't have time for some teenage entertainment. But this is correct, I believe, because up to a certain point you invest in yourself and only then you can get the return.

Now "Ufa" has been in the championship since better results than predicted before the start of the season. And some are inclined to believe that this is largely your personal merit. What do you say to this?
I would not say so, this is the result of the entire team, including the administrative staff, doctors, masseur, driver - everyone, we are united in our business. There is an immense life outside the field, and there is a great deal of merit in the overall success of those who are behind it. We are all contributing bit by bit to the common goal - to be among the best teams in Russia. This is not the first year I have been in Ufa, I know that many in the republic dreamed of the team playing in the Premier League, and, probably, we all just really want it.

The fans adore you, and according to the results of the first round of the championship, sports journalists included you in the symbolic team. What do you think about it?
It is a very big responsibility that people trust me. This means that I have to meet their requirements, meet their expectations, and it's hard. Sometimes you have to close your eyes to some personal problems, not to dissipate and accumulate forces in order to throw them out to the maximum already at the match.

Is the reaction of the stands important to you at all?
Of course. It's nice when you are supported. And at the same time, if during the away game and I hear something negative about me, it turns me on. But, everyone knows that, unfortunately, there are anti-fans who do not want to hear at the stadium, to see what they are doing. I believe that football is a family sport and people should go to games with their wives and children, knowing that it is safe there. It doesn't matter who plays: CSKA, Spartak, Ufa or Lokomotiv. It is unpleasant when a person wants to spend time with his family, to cheer for an interesting sports match, and curses are heard around and unprintable vocabulary sounds. It shouldn't be like that. There is a so-called life "near football", and it also has a right to exist. But it should not be in the first lines of the news, above the game itself.

Do family values play an important role in your life?
Undoubtedly. The family gives inner peace, balance, harmony. For me, family is sacred. The best moment in my life is the appearance of my son. I was present at his birth, and I myself was the initiator of this. After what I saw, what I felt, I understand the full significance of life, and for me the appearance of a child is something sublime, and not just physiology.

Have you ever doubted your decision to become a professional athlete?
You cannot regret what has been done in life: you need to be responsible for your actions from the very beginning. It is beyond us to foresee the future - whether it will be successful or not, what consequences the decision will lead to. Therefore, if you have chosen the path, follow it, achieve your goal, it will be difficult - endure, prove, first of all to yourself, that you are worthy. I do not understand those who stop halfway - then what were all the expenses and sacrifices for? To climb the pedestal once and that's it? If you have risen, you must hold on to the top and demand even more from yourself. And this is even more difficult than just getting up once. You cannot dwell on what you have achieved, you need to go further. We live for the sake of raising our children, and should be an example for them in everything, so that they look up to us and be proud of us.

Ufa goalkeeper David Yurchenko this season Russian Premier League leaves a good impression, and after the website reported on Armenian roots football player, they began to closely follow the performances of the gate guard in Armenia too.

    - David, it is known that your mother is half Armenian. Do you have many Armenian relatives?

My maternal grandfather was Armenian. Unfortunately, he died early. I did not find any of my grandfathers. My godfather is also Armenian, so I have many friends and relatives in Armenia.

    - Are they related to football?

No, I am one football player in the family (laughs).

    - Do you know Armenian?

I know a few words, for example, “ցավդ տանեմ” (translated from Armenian - “I will take away your pain”), and I also called my grandmother in Armenian.

    - The name David is very popular in Armenia ...

I got this name thanks to my Armenian roots. My father, of course, had the right to choose my name, and he insisted that I be called David.

You started playing football in Tver, and then moved to Moscow, where you trained at the football schools of Spartak and Lokomotiv. Have you always been a goalkeeper? Which coach has influenced your career the most?

I always wanted to become a goalkeeper and from the very beginning I knew that I would play in this role. In Tver, my mentor was Viktor Sergeevich Galkin, from whom I learned a lot.

    - "Sport-Express" named you the best goalkeeper of the first part of the Russian championship. Can we say that you are having the best season of your career?

Hopefully my best season is yet to come. I am grateful to everyone who appreciates my game, but I need to continue to work on myself and develop.

    - How did "Ufa" react to the fact that you can receive an invitation to the Armenian national team?

Friends and relatives, of course, know about my Armenian roots, and the rest did not know anything about it, therefore, when information appeared that people from Armenia were interested in me, many were surprised. Yes, I myself did not believe then that all this was happening to me (laughs).

But absolutely everyone at Ufa supported me, because this is a new big stage in my career. I am very pleased that I have received the attention of the Armenian Football Federation, which has a rich history and, I am sure, a bright future.

They also talk a lot about your teammate Denis Tumasyan in Armenia. Did you talk to him about the national team? How can you characterize Denis?

We are both pleased with the attention from Armenia. V recent times we had hard games, therefore, there has not yet been time to talk in detail with Denis on this issue.

Speaking about Denis, first of all, I would like to note his human qualities. He is a very positive person with the right thoughts and outlook on life. On the field, he knows how to anticipate the steps of opponents and acts brightly, because he is a real player.

    - Do you know anyone from the Armenian national team?

Some of the players of the national team play in Russia, but, unfortunately, except for Roman Berezovsky, I do not know anyone. But football life is such that we have many acquaintances in common.

    - Yura Movsisyan is one of the best forwards in the RFPL. It is interesting to know the opinion of the goalkeeper about him.

Yura is a very good striker who has a strong shot and is always aimed at the goal. I wish him good health and I am sure that a great future awaits him.

The Armenian national team is at the bottom of the table in its group of the qualifying stage of EURO-2016, however, the team has a goal to win a ticket to the final stage of the tournament. How do you assess the team's chances of reaching the playoffs?

There are always chances and you always have to fight for them. There are still 3 home matches left, and when Armenia plays at home with the support of fans, the team always goes ahead and can defeat any opponent. You need to believe in yourself and in your teammates and then everything can be achieved.

There was information that the coach of the Armenian national team Bernard Schalland intends to attend the last matches"Ufa". Have you met him?

During the matches, I am concentrated on my game, so I could not notice the coach. I was told that Bernard Schalland was going to attend the matches of Ufa, but I did not meet with him, because in a conversation with an FFA representative I asked to give me time until December 8, when the league break would begin.

    - The break has come, and now you can calmly consider the FFA proposal ...

I did not receive an official offer so that I could make a decision. I have such a character that I prefer deeds to words. Of course, I am very pleased with the interest from the FFA and I want to play for Armenia, but until there is an official proposal, I cannot say anything.

Now I am in Moscow and I hope that the coach or representatives of the FFA will meet with me and we will calmly discuss everything.

David Yurchenko is a Russian goalkeeper, a Tosno player. He started his professional career in the football club "Titan" from the Second Division of Russia. Then he managed to play in the Latvian Metallurg and Minsk Dynamo. From 2008 to 2011, he was listed as the goalkeeper of Wings of the Soviets, but he practically did not play in the first team, going on loan to FNL clubs. In 2012 he won the FNL championship with Mordovia and entered the Premier League. Even before his debut in the top division, he moved to Ufa, where he was the main goalkeeper for 2.5 seasons. He has been playing for Anji since winter 2016, having signed a three-year contract with this team. In the summer of 2017 he moved to Tosno.

    • Full name: David Viktorovich Yurchenko
    • Date and place of birth: March 27, 1986, Ashgabat (Turkmen SSR)
    • Role: goalkeeper

    Club career of David Yurchenko

Yurchenko was born in 1986 in the Turkmen SSR. Since childhood, he was accustomed to moving, therefore, becoming a professional footballer, he easily accepted offers from other clubs and changed his place of residence. At the age of 10, he ended up in the village of Elista, Ketchenerovsky district. Here he studied at the football school of the same name, after which he entered the ranks of the youth team of Uralan. In 2004 he made his senior football debut as a member of the club of the Second Division of Russia "Titan". Having played five matches here, David accepted the offer of the Latvian Metallurg. Here he played in the youth squad, until in 2007 he moved to Dynamo Minsk. For this team he played 16 matches (11 in the championship of Belarus).

    "Wings"

In winter 2008 he returned to Russia, signing a four-year contract with Wings of the Soviets. On August 6, 2008 he made his debut in a new team in a duel against Gazovik from Orenburg. Subsequently, he was the reserve goalkeeper of the wings, making his debut in the national championship only on March 13, 2010. Soon he was given a one-year loan to the Volgar-Gazprom club, where he played in 28 matches.

    "Mordovia"

During the winter break in 2012, he moved to Mordovia Saransk, with which he won the FNL championship. In the 2012/13 season he helped the team stay in the elite division, after which he moved to Ufa. In this team, Yurchenko became a real leader. During the 2014/15 season, he was named the best player of the month five times, and then the best player of the entire football year. He also started the 2015/16 season as the team's main goalkeeper, playing 13 out of 15 first round matches.

Scandal in the press and departure to Anji

In November, Yurchenko began to associate with CSKA, but he said that he was not going to be Akinfeev's understudy. Subsequently, Spartak, Krasnodar and Zenit were interested in him, but the agent assured that David would end the season at Ufa. Nevertheless, with the opening of the transfer window, rumors only intensified, and on January 15, the goalkeeper gave an ambiguous interview in the press, criticized the management of the Ufa team:

“We had a long conversation, but it was not possible to come to a common opinion with the management. My current agreement with Ufa will not be extended. As for my near future, there is little that rests on my plans and desires. Together with the leadership of Ufa, we need to come to a mutually beneficial solution to this issue.

However, now it is clear that none of the leaders of the club have an ardent desire to keep me in the club, and in general it is not clear whether Ufa wants to keep the registration in the Premier League for the next season. The club's management is playing some of its own internal games, which I do not understand "

Yurchenko was instantly transferred to the double, and on February 14 he moved to Anji on loan. Until the end of the season, David played 12 matches in which he conceded 13 goals. He finished the season with a series of four dry meetings, not missing in play-offs against Volgar (0-1, 2-0). In June, Anji's official website announced the breakup with David, but then the parties sat down at the negotiating table and decided to extend the contract for three years. The goalkeeper himself noted that he wants to make his way with Anji to the Eurocups and get a call to the Russian national team.

    Go to "Tosno"

During the 2016/17 season, Yurchenko played for Anji only in four matches, which forced the player to look for himself new club... In the summer of 2017, the player's transfer to the top division rookie was officially announced, football club"Tosno".

During the first half of the 2017/18 season, Yurchenko became one of the leaders of the St. Petersburg team, having played 18 matches for Tosno in the Russian championship.

    International career of David Yurchenko

Yurchenko has little experience of playing in the youth team of Russia. He also received offers from the football federations of Turkmenistan and Armenia, but each time he made a choice in favor of the Russian national team. Yurchenko spoke about his desire to play in the Russian national team more than once in interviews, the last of which was dated February 2016. Then the goalkeeper deflected a penalty in a friendly match against CSKA, which was led by the current coach of the national team Leonid Slutsky:

“I just think that I will be called if I play the same way. I certainly want this. Leonid Viktorovich has all the information. If he does, I will be very happy. Now I do not communicate with Slutsky. When we met with CSKA, I was on the podium. We lost then, but we didn't want to go down to the pitch with negative emotions. But last season, when we played with the army team, we talked very warmly. We talked for 30 minutes with Leonid Viktorovich and Sergei Ovchinnikov "

    Achievements of David Yurchenko

    "Mordovia"

    • FNL Champion 2011/12
    • The best player of Mordovia 2011/12

In an interview with R-Sport correspondent Veronika Stolbunova, he spoke about his childhood, the choice of the goalkeeper's position, playing in the Ufa team, relationship with the new head coach, the desire to play in the Russian national team, and also shared the interpretation of his tattoos.

"I've always enjoyed reading the game."

    - David, you were born in Ashgabat, then at the age of 8 you moved to Russia, to Tver. Why did the family decide to move?

It's very simple: we moved because my older brother studied law in Tver. His parents decided that they would not receive a proper education in Turkmenistan and sent him to study in Russia. In the same place in Tver, I took my first steps in football, and before, like my brother, I went swimming, was engaged in martial arts - where the elder, the younger. In Russia, I myself have made a choice in favor of football.

    - And immediately decided on the goalkeeper's position?

Yes, instantly. Since childhood, I don’t like to run, but I always liked reading the game, leading and prompting the defense, helping out the team. Especially when beautiful jumps are obtained (laughs). This helped me choose the goalkeeper position.

    - Didn't you regret choosing football?

There was not a day that I regretted it. Football is the meaning of my life, the thing that I love since childhood. Thank God I have health and I can move forward. I am very happy about that.

    - Are you fond of any other sports?

We cannot professionally engage in other sports under a contract, but to maintain our tone and development - of course. The same swimming, cycling, tennis.

    Communication and understanding

    - How do you assess the results of “Ufa” in the national championship?

Of course, I would like more - first of all, a better position in standings... At the moment, not everything suits us. Probably, in connection with this, the management decided to change the head coach. Everyone wants more, and, I hope, in the near future we will be able to rectify the situation and rise higher.

    - Did the workflow change a lot with the arrival?

    - That is, you already have a willingness to enter the field in the next match?

Yes, I was away for a long time and really missed the games. I want to finally return to the ranks, feel this drive, the rhythm of football and do everything to help the team score points.

    - Isn't it psychologically scary to go out on the field after an injury?

It's not scary to go out on the field. There is no point in running this over in our head, because we all understand that football players are not immune from injuries, we have always had them, they are and will be. Going out with the thought of a relapse or a new injury - why? Thoughts are material. I definitely don't have them. It's scary to start work in the gym after an injury, because you know that every day for 4-5 hours you have the same large amount of work.

While you were recovering from injury, Sergei Narubin took a place in the goal. Do you have a place to compete with him?

I have a very good attitude to Sergei. We have known each other for a long time. Our competition is healthy, and rightly so - without it it is impossible to grow and improve in your sports qualities. I was injured, there was a difficult situation, and Sergei replaced me. It turned out well or not - it's not for me to judge, but for the coaching staff. As well as determining the composition for the game. For my part, I will say that I am ready to enter the field and prepare for the game with “Amkar”.

    - How do you like the last match with CSKA?

At the moment, CSKA confirms its lead and lead in the championship, and we need to score points in order to rise as high as possible and strengthen our position in the standings. There were some shortcomings in the match itself, we made a number of unnecessary mistakes - it was obvious from the outside, as I watched the match from the stands and was very worried about the team. We will analyze the game with the head coach in more detail.

    - You said that you watched the match in the stands. Have you been to the Ufa fan sector?

Yes, I went to our fans to thank them for their support. The guys come with the team to the matches - even if there are not so many of them, they are with us. I myself was interested to know what it is like to look at what is happening on the field from the fan sector, to feel this drive and energy. We talked, took pictures - it was nice for the guys, and even more so for me.

    - What happened to the bus when the team went to the airport after the match? Was there some kind of fire?

I was not with the team at that moment, but was driving from the stadium towards the house to visit my relatives in Moscow. From a conversation with the guys, I know that the bus started to smoke, and they all got to the airport on their own. There was a certain force majeure, but everyone reacted to this with a smile. Just a coincidence. Thank God that everyone is safe and sound. They laughed, smiled and drove on. This is not human life, but just iron, a technique that can be restored.

"I don't want to be a stranger in the country where I grew up"

    - You were invited to the Armenian national team, but you refused. What is the reason for this decision?

It was not an easy decision for me. I am grateful to the Armenian Federation for their interest in me, for the fact that they saw me as the first number of their national team. I have great respect for this country, because my mother is from Armenia, our relatives live there. But Russia is my homeland, and I don't want to be a stranger in the country where I grew up and took my first steps in football. I want to prove what I am capable of here in my country. And I will do everything that depends on me to play for the Russian national team. This is what I dream about, what I strive for and what I want in the first place.

    - Have you already had communication with or?

We worked together with Leonid Viktorovich at Krylyakh Sovetov, in particular, he invited me from Dinamo Minsk. I know him very well as a specialist and a person, as he does me. I also know Sergei Ivanovich for a long time - when I was still a young pupil of railway workers, he was the acting goalkeeper of Lokomotiv. We did not communicate with them about the national team. I understand very well that I have something to prove to myself, to the football community, and to the coaching staff of the national team. And I will do it.

    - The Armenian team did not qualify for Euro 2016. Did you follow her performance?

Yes, I watched the matches. Of course, it is a pity that the Armenian national team was unable to qualify, because the composition of this team is quite combat-ready. But I can't judge what went wrong since I'm not there.

    - But, on the other hand, the joy for the release of the Russian team ...

Yes, of course, this is a great joy. I am glad that it was Leonid Viktorovich who, at a difficult moment for the national team, when the whole country was worried about the team, was able to rally the guys, instill in them his views on football, tactics and help them believe that they will achieve the desired result. It's great that Russia will be at the Euro.

Many well-known specialists, veterans believed that the national team should not be trained by a foreign specialist. Is the Russian team really supposed to be coached only by a Russian?

In fact, the national team can be trained by any specialist who is appointed. The question is, what are his own tasks in this post. If a coach has his own ambitions, coaching potential, it doesn't matter if he is Russian or not. But again, we live in Russia, Russian guys play in the national team. It is important for us that the coach understands us, our psychology, and foreigners cannot always understand a Russian person, they have their own approach to work. For example, when I played in Latvia, it was not accepted there that Main coach talked to the players. They believe that a person has his own job, and he must do it the way he knows how. For them, this is paramount - work, and in Russia, football is a thrill, adrenaline, the emotions that we get, we want it ourselves. This is not just a job - this is what we live by. Therefore, I think that a Russian specialist should still work with the national team.

The elder brother is like a father, friend and comrade

    - Is there a goalkeeper in the world who appeals to you the most?

Yes, this is a goalkeeper, who at one time was such an open book for me, from whom I learned a lot in my childhood, tried to imitate him. This is Gianluigi Buffon - the well-known Gigi, who is still playing, and God forbid he will stay on the field for as long as possible. This is a goalkeeper with a capital letter, and now he also has a lot to learn in terms of developing goalkeeping skills.

    - David, are you an optimist in life or are you prone to reflection - after a defeat, for example?

I am an optimist in my life. But, of course, after the match I need time to recover. I remain alone with myself and begin to replay this or that situation that was during the game, I try to look at it from the outside, draw conclusions. This takes about an hour. After that, I try to perceive everything that happened with a smile - I know what I did wrong and how to prevent it from happening in the future.

It is clear that some setbacks on the football field leave a residue. You live in Ufa alone, that is, you cannot just come home and switch to communicating with your family. Does it affect?

Although I live far from my family, I am not alone - we live in the age of technology, there are telephones, Skype - whatever. After any match, first of all, I contact my brother and hot on the heels, even sometimes on emotions, we discuss this match. I do not have such that I want to throw out the negative on someone. On the contrary: the negative is inside me - from dissatisfaction with the game, for example. I say all this, discuss it with my brother, evaluate my actions and move on.

    - Do you often consult with your brother?

Yes. For me, a brother is also my close friend, to some extent a father, an older comrade who has gone through a lot in this life, has a wealth of experience. We communicate not as an elder with a younger, but on an equal footing, even sometimes on emotions we can raise our voices to each other, but both of us understand that this is just a conversation, and there will be no consequences.

    - From whom, besides your brother, are you ready to receive criticism on the issue of football?

From the coaching staff, who works with me and sees my actions from the outside. They know me, my psychology, they know what I am capable of. By the way, my mother sometimes also criticizes my actions on the field (laughs).

    - Give an example of criticism from your mother.

We played with “Ural” - in that match I just got injured. Mom told me after the game: "Why did you push off so weakly when you jumped for the ball and conceded a goal? You always hit those balls." But it was at that moment that I got a knee injury and explained to her that I simply could not reach the ball.

    - Do you consider yourself an emotional person?

Yes, I am a very emotional person.

    - Does it help or hinder you on the field?

It helps me on the pitch. On the field, emotions force you to do what, it would seem, you cannot do - some incredible actions in terms of jumps, speed of reaction, this is adrenaline! All my emotions that are on the football field are a plus. There was never a moment when I started swinging my fists on the football field. I play football and love what I do.

How do you usually spend your leisure time? For example, what was the last movie you saw that impressed you?

From the latter - two films. This is "Black Mass" about the criminal Boston in the 80s of the twentieth century with Johnny Depp in the title role. This is a very strong actor, man. And, judging by the interviews he gives, this is a person with a big inner world. In general, I love gangster films - they are classics. And when my team and I flew to the game with CSKA, I watched Infected with Arnold Schwarzenegger on the plane. I was attracted to this film by the fact that in the trailer I saw the main idea - the attitude of a father to his child. Although the daughter of the protagonist was infected with a certain virus, he was by her side until the last moment and tried to help. The plot is simple, but this film made an impression on me - people are fighting to the end for their happiness, happiness in the family.

    - You have a tattoo on your arm. Still a lot?

I got my first tattoo when I was 28, a little over a year ago. It is dedicated to a grand event in my life - the birth of my son. I was present at the birth and was the first after the doctor to take him in my arms. It depicts an angel in male form with a child in her arms, with his name and date of birth. All my tattoos symbolize what I consider important to myself, somewhere they give me an incentive to move forward, and sometimes they warn me against wrong actions. On my left hand, which is closer to my heart, I have the "Last Supper" - a symbol of the purity of those relationships that Jesus gave to people. Another tattoo is a tiger, this is the year of my birth. It has something in common with my profession, I'm a goalkeeper. The next tattoo is my initials painted as an autograph. Everything was done consciously and with meaning. In my understanding, tattoos are a kind of amulet. When a football player is on the field, he is completely clean: there are no rings, chains, a cross on his neck, and tattoos are always with me, it protects me. I have my own meaning in this.

    - Are you generally a superstitious person? Is there something you do before the match, for example?

No, I'm not superstitious. I'm not one of those who gets up with one leg, or puts on some kind of boot first. The more frames a person sets for himself, the less he will get.

Each of us has a lot to strive for. If we compare the current David Yurchenko and the ideal David Yurchenko, what will be the difference?

Yes, I am now so, perfect (laughs). Seriously though, I live with what I have. When you achieve something in life, you set new goals for yourself - that is, in fact, the pursuit of your ideal is endless. Of course, like any person, I have a desire to have a large and strong family. Work is work, but we live for the sake of the family, for the sake of our children. This is the main thing in life. I would like not only to prolong my family, but also to be a worthy example for my family and children, so that you will never be ashamed of your actions. To live with dignity.

Acting as a goalkeeper in FC Tosno. Among his sporting achievements are the following: the champion of the Russian Football National League 2012 (in the Saransk "Mordovia"). Among the goalkeeper's individual awards, it can be noted that he was declared the best player of the month in the 2014/15 season, and subsequently the best player of the club at the end of the season (during the period of playing for Ufa).
