Hunting is a dangerous occupation. In addition to the likelihood of being injured by the beast, there is an option to suffer from your brother, the hunter. I think it is necessary to remind of this constantly. The iron rule works inevitably - as soon as they have ceased to be afraid of danger, the trouble is not far off. Here are some cases from my practice, and to which I was a witness.

It was at the beginning of our hunt for ungulates. The composition of the brigades was motley and, despite regular briefings, not all members of the brigades bothered to scrupulously follow the recommendations of the briefings. I stood on the room. The moose corral has already begun. The nerves in such cases are tense and all the senses are sharpened. After some time, I heard the sound of approaching footsteps. Having turned off the safety catch, I insert the stock into my shoulder and, putting my finger on the trigger, I wait for the animal to come out. The steps are getting closer and closer, and I suddenly see flickering feet in boots. Cold sweat broke out on my back. The goonball beater decided not to tear his throat in vain in the corral, and put himself in a mortally dangerous situation, and he made me a candidate for the killer of a hunting comrade.

Much later, when our brigade was already drunk (drunk), all were experienced hunters. In one of the corrals, an elk went to the next room. After the shelling on the license plate, he walked parallel to the rifle plates in my direction. I saw that a moose was moving in my shooting sector, flickering between the trees. After several shots from the SCS, he stopped. For a long time we decided for ourselves that it would be better to add it several times, so as not to run after the wounded animal later. At the standing moose, I shot two more times until he lay down. When I approached him, I suddenly saw an arrow from the next room. Forgetting the prohibition to leave the room without permission, in excitement he rushed after the beast in his tracks, just under my bullets. Thank God everything worked out.

Another curious incident occurred during a moose hunt in the Kirov region. The shooting line was located on a straight and clean clearing. They were waiting for a moose, and a wild boar came out, just in the middle between me and the neighboring rifle number. I clearly saw how the boar did not cross the clearing, but moved along it to the next room. Having reached the hunter, he made an attempt to attack him, trying to hit him with a snout. Tom had no choice but to fight off the wild boar with the barrel of his carbine. The boar had enough sense not to take matters to the extreme and, after making several attempts to hit, he retreated. When the hunter asked why he didn’t shoot, he replied that we had a license for an elk, not for a wild boar. We also joked that they shouldn’t cut off the bayonet from the SCS, it would be very useful in such situations. Now this seasoned hunter heads the Republican O&R.

I think that this is another reminder of caution, it will not be superfluous at the beginning of the hunting season.

Danger of injury when hunting at close range it is aggravated by the fact that with a shot charge scraps of clothing, cotton wool, etc., inevitably fall into the wound. Such contamination of the wound promotes suppuration, can cause blood poisoning and lead to the death of the victim, even if vital organs are not damaged. One cannot but agree that a shot wound inflicted at close range is no less, but more dangerous than a rifle bullet wound.

Most of the accidents occur during the summer and autumn hunting. There are many reasons for this:

    • Firstly, the crowding of hunters, especially on general weekends, near settlements.
    • Secondly, poor visibility during fogs.
    • Thirdly, non-observance of safety measures when crossing various obstacles: ditches, channels, rivers, etc.
    • Fourth, by shooting in places with poor visibility - forests, bushes, etc.

    First aid for hunting accidents

All possible accidents can be prevented by strict adherence to the safety regulations. In the event of an accident, timely and correct first aid is essential.

    Rescue of a drowning man

Hearing cries for help, one must immediately run or drive to the crash site.
If you have to rescue a drowning person by swimming, then before throwing yourself into the water, you need to undress or, in extreme cases, take off your boots and turn out all the pockets in your clothes.
Having swam up to the drowning man, you need to grab him from behind under the arms or by the strips, and if he starts to grab the rescuer and interfere with his swimming, then in order to free himself from him, you should dive, and then grab him again, as indicated, and swim with him to shore. Having delivered the victim to the shore, if he lost consciousness, first of all, it is necessary to cleanse his nasopharynx and mouth from dirt and mud, and also remove his clothes. Then, kneeling on one knee, put the drowning person with his stomach on the other, press on his back and squeeze his chest so that water flows out of the respiratory tract. Then they start artificial respiration.

First aid for bruises while hunting

With a severe bruise, crushing of bones and damage to internal organs are possible. In such cases, you should immediately take out measures to send the victim to a medical center.
A common bruise causes bruising (bruising). Immediately after an injury, cold lotions should be applied to the affected area. After 1-2 days, the lotions are replaced with a warming compress.

    First aid for wounded hunting

Hunting wounds can be dangerous because, in addition to the possible large loss of blood, germs can enter the wound, causing suppuration and sometimes blood poisoning.
The first thing to do in order to stop the bleeding is to raise the injured limb upwards in order to reduce the blood flow to it. In case of severe bleeding, the artery should be pressed above the wound (closer to the heart), and then a tourniquet should be applied. For a tourniquet, you can use a bandage, handkerchief, etc.

    How to apply a tourniquet!
A tourniquet is applied for wounds on the upper limb on the shoulder, and on the lower limb on the thigh, again above the wound, having previously wrapped the place where it will be applied with something soft. The tourniquet is tied with a fairly loose knot, then a stick is inserted under it and slowly twisted in one direction until the bleeding stops. It is impossible to hold the tourniquet without interruption for more than one hour and a half, as this can lead to tissue necrosis. After the specified time, the tourniquet must be loosened or removed for 10-15 minutes, pressing the artery with your fingers.
In all cases of such injuries, after providing first aid, all measures must be taken to ensure that the victim is examined by a doctor as soon as possible.

    First aid for dislocated hunting

The first thing to do is to ensure complete rest of the dislocated limb - the hand is suspended on a towel, rag, worn over the other shoulder; the leg is placed in the most comfortable position on something soft. Cold lotions relieve pain.
Dislocations must be corrected by a doctor.

Transportation of the victim on the hunt

In case of injury or illness, so severe that the victim cannot reach a place from where he could be transported to a medical center, first aid should be given to him, and then his transportation should be organized. If you need help from firefighters and rescuers, please let us know.

    STRANGE CASES ON THE HUNT

    STRANGE CASES ON THE HUNT

Some of the accidents of a rifle hunt, which I told in my hunting notes, such as: a broad-beaked drake that flew away, lying dead for several hours in a box of hunting droshky, a black grouse that flew away with broken backs and guts hanging from them, etc., etc. - might seem, especially to non-hunters, implausible, because hunters have a reputation for loving red word... But, not being afraid of such a reputation, I will tell, mainly for hunters, a few more cases that will seem also incredible, although they are literally true.

I once shot at a mallard drake, which was sitting in bumps and grass, so that one head was visible, and I killed him on the spot. There was no dog with me, and I myself ran to take my prey; but, approaching the killed bird, which he did not suddenly find, he saw a leaping snipe with a broken, bloody wing. It must be assumed that he was lurking in the grass near a mallard drake and that some lateral pellet hit him in the bone of the wing.

In the same way, having shot with n O a peck in a flying snipe, about forty paces from me, I missed; the snipe shouted, gave it a shot, and rushed even faster; but at the same time I saw that a snipe with a broken wing was bouncing about twenty paces further from the flying snipe, in the direction of the shot; the dog rushed and brought it to me alive. This case is much more surprising than the first: the great snipe had to turn up under the pellet at the very point where the pellet, having flown much further, touched the ground.

Here is another case, very remarkable and at the same time serving as convincing proof that mortally wounded birds fly away very far in the heat and then die in vain, and that it is necessary to closely observe, if the terrain permits, every bird at which the hunter shot. V Lately In my hunt, I strictly observed this rule, and sometimes I sometimes got prey that would have escaped another hunter.

Wild geese rarely visited our pond. But one hot summer, in July, a miller came running to tell me that five geese (no doubt single ones) had landed on the pond and were swimming between the reeds at a respectful distance from the shores. I got into the boat, and the same miller, making his way between the green tall reeds, gave me a lift to the geese in moderation. I hit them with a large shot: I killed one on the spot, and the other four flew up the Buguruslan River. I got out of the boat and, together with another hunter, began to shoot small game in the swampy upper reaches of the pond. Not less than an hour later, my friend saw that the geese were flying back, but only three of them. I just thought that the fourth goose was probably wounded and fell somewhere; I went with the hunter up the river to look for him. About two miles away, we learned from the shepherds that four geese were descending on a fallow field, located half a mile from the river, on the slope of a nearby mountain, sat there for a long time, and finally flew away. Of course, we went to a fallow field and soon saw, already surrounded by crows and magpies, a dead goose. Undoubtedly, when the geese flew up the river, the wounded goose began to weaken and went down, away from the river, the comrades followed him by instinct, and when he sank to the ground or fell, then they sank down, sat beside him and, seeing that he did not get up, flew again, already down the river.

Such cases repeated with me more than once: I had the opportunity sometimes to observe with my own eyes and in all the details such phenomena, curious for the hunter, that is, how an apparently unharmed bird suddenly begins to weaken, separate from others and hide by instinct in strong places ; before he could do this, sometimes in the air, sometimes on the ground, he suddenly begins to beat and immediately dies, and sometimes languishes for a long time, lying motionless in some dimple. Probably another wounded bird is recovering.

I have already spoken in my Notes on Eating Fish about the extraordinary greed of the pike and have recounted several true incidents confirming my opinion. Here are two more cases of the same kind. The first of them is so incredible and similar to fiction that one cannot help but smile when listening to its description. I would not even have dared to tell it in print if I had not had a witness, I.S. fishing, which at that time was in my village. At the end of May 1854, ordinary fishing rods with strong scaffolding and hooks planted with fish or earthworms were set for the night: for during the day they took little perch, and at night they came across rather large ones. On one of these rods with a worm he took a small perch and swallowed the hook into a huddle; a small pike, or a puppy, also took and swallowed a perch, and a large pike, more than five pounds, grabbed it across, and so caught its teeth in its prey that the fisherman pulled it out of the water without any caution, not suspecting that the hook would not dug into her gills; but when he saw this outlandish thing, he hastened to bring the pike to us. She, hanging in the air, did not open her teeth on the way (the distance was about half a mile), and Turgenev and I ourselves opened her mouth and then carried out an investigation on the perch and the bee-eater, which, taking on the perch, as on a nozzle, itself became with a nozzle. The leash was ordinary, that is, silk, and the puppy could easily have gnawed it, but it must be assumed that the perch, which was somewhat large for him, so widened his mouth or throat that he could not clench his mouth and that it was in this position that it grabbed him across a large pike, from which the beetle's mouth opened even more. When they brought us this triple prey, the puppy turned out to be asleep long ago and even cold; the big pike was perfectly healthy and not even scratched.

After this event, it is almost unnecessary to tell that in the same year the pike grabbed the gudgeon, which was planted with other fish in a circle, ten steps away from me, firmly grabbed the net with its teeth and raised such a splash that, hearing it, the boy, the former for dinner with me, he went up to the mug and, seeing this trick, pulled the mug and the pike to the shore. We were also forced to open her mouth with a stick so that she would release the net; in the pike weighed about three pounds, and the net was gnawed.

A mug gnawed by a pike's net explained to me an incident that happened to me two years ago (then I did not understand it clearly) and which, by the way, can now be told to fishermen-hunters in order to prevent them from such hardships. I don't remember the month well, but probably at the beginning of August, because the weather was still hot, I went fishing in the upper reaches of the Repekhovsky pond on the Vore river. My unchanging fellow fisherman got up before me and was already in place for a long time. When I arrived, he showed me five nice perches and a puppy he had just fished out, which were walking around in a circle. Half an hour later, the circle was needed to plant the perch I fished out in it; But what was our surprise and annoyance when, pulling out the circle, we saw that only one snapped perch remained in it, as if it was deliberately small, and there were no four large ones and the beetle in the circle. Having examined it carefully, we found a hole into which all the living fish had gone. The circle was new, and we did not know how to explain this incident: we thought that rotten threads were caught or that the puppy gnawed through the net. The bite was, contrary to usual, very successful, the perches were taken large, and we rewarded our loss. Nevertheless, my friend was very sorry for his large perches. Now, after the attack of the pike on the circle, which I have now described, it is clear that it was not the puppy who gnawed through the net, but, probably, the big pike grabbed one of the perches outside, broke through several loops and, without touching them with its teeth, left, frightened by a noisy and the strong splashing of the rest of the fish (which we heard, but did not look at the mug), and that several perches and puppies took advantage of the gap and went for a walk to Vorya again. The moral of this story is that it is better not to put pikes in a circle, although before I did this often without any bad consequences, and that a circle dipped into the water with a caught fish should be carefully examined at every strong splash of fish.

Hunting a wild boar is the dream of any hunter. This is a great trophy: delicious meat, fangs, skin. This is success, pride, self-affirmation of the hunter. Memory for a lifetime. Unexpected moments, nervous tension, the greatest successes and the most bitter disappointments occur on this wonderful hunt.

A lone hunter is prohibited from chasing a wounded animal. Sometimes even mortally wounded, he ambushes on his trail and suddenly attacks. Photo: Semina Mikhail

I don't know what hunters for tigers, lions, rhinos experience, but here in Russia the most emotional hunt is for wild boars. The most interesting and the most dangerous one.

How disturbing the minutes of waiting on a room or in an ambush! Remember how suddenly a cleaver appears, walking away from the herd, with what noise the herd is chased by the dogs, how a wounded boar fearlessly rushes at you, full of wild determination and hatred for its enemy - you, standing alone by the willow bush.

Remember, and all your everyday worries will disappear. After all, everything in this world is vanity. Except hunting.

Running away from danger or rapidly rushing at the enemy, the boar develops a speed of up to 40 kilometers per hour, makes jumps up to 4.5 meters in length, and can run up to 15 kilometers without rest. Wild boars swim quickly and easily, walk confidently through swamps, easily climb steep slopes.

The jaws of the boar have 22 teeth. The canines of the upper jaw are short and, coming out of the gums, bend upward. The triangular canines of the lower jaw grow in males throughout their life and by the age of 6-8 they are up to 10 cm long.

The boar's fangs are a terrible weapon that allows it to successfully defend itself against such strong predators as a bear and a wolf.

For their amazing ability to deliver lightning strikes, often deadly, hunters call large males "cleavers" (in the old days - "boar").

Females have small canines and, defending themselves, she does not whip the enemy, but tears and tramples with her feet.

Pigs are caring mothers, they boldly protect piglets and in the first month are very aggressive - they rush towards any animal or person who dares to approach the herd at a close distance. All pigs in the herd protect all piglets - both their own and others.

Boars have a very fine sense of smell and hearing, but weak eyesight. Nevertheless, even in the dark, they move freely in the forest thicket.

The size of the wild boars is quite impressive. A five-year-old boar reaches a weight of up to 120 kg. I boast right away - in Armenia I killed a wild boar weighing 310 kg. It is terrifying to imagine what this giant could do with his enemy!

The boar is a fast, sensitive, cautious animal. During the corral, he moves in segments of 20 - 50 m, then instantly stops, carefully scans the terrain, listens and sniffs, and then repeats the run with stops. He prefers to stay in dense thickets, and chasing boars overcome glades and glades by jumping.

I had a chance to hunt wild boars in the Kopet-Dag and Talysh mountains, in Armenia, Ukraine, Belarus, Karelia, Moscow and Yaroslavl regions.

I will say without bragging - I got about a hundred wild boars. Lot? Yes, there are many, but I have been hunting them since 1960. Over the years, I have had to experience and survive many interesting and sometimes tragic cases when hunting wild boars.

Once I alone hunted for rabbits with a gravity boat. The hunt was successful - one hare lay in a backpack, and decided to walk on the willow tree and finish the hunt. The IZhK shotgun (16-caliber single-shot single-barrel trigger) was loaded with a cartridge with shot No. 3.

Quite unexpectedly, a large wild boar falls out from under the bush and leaves without haste. Without thinking about the consequences, I shoot ... The wild boar turns around, the hair on its neck and back stands on end, grinds its teeth and goes swiftly towards me. What to do? I won't have time to load the gun. Only a thin willow tree grows nearby. But there is no choice.

I drop my gun and at the last moment, when the cleaver was literally one meter away from me, I grab onto two thin willow trunks, jump, bend my legs to my stomach, the willows buckle ... the wild boar rushes under my feet at speed. I grab a gun from the ground, feverishly load it with buckshot ... The wild boar has already disappeared.

It's good that he made one run. My frivolity could lead to dire consequences. Looking around haunted, I got out of the bush and home.

Another time we hunted with grandfather Arut. He was a very famous and respected hunter in Armenia. (Heavenly kingdom to him. He died in 1971 and was buried on Mount Sari-Baba. There are two words on the tombstone: Harut. Hunter).

Grandfather Harut combed the area to my left, and I walked along the fence, which was poured along the banks of the Araks in case of a strong flood of the river. Suddenly, a herd of wild boars, numbering at least 20 heads, appears from the side of my grandfather and moves along the path on which I am standing.

The trail follows a narrow passage between two ditches filled with water. I shoot small shot into the air, I think - I will scare away ...

But the reaction of the boars was completely unexpected for me. The leader bristled, stood for a second, made a roaring sound, and the whole herd rushed at me. There are no bushes or trees, there are ditches on both sides of the water ...

At the last moment, the instinct of self-preservation is triggered - together with the gun I jump into a ditch with water. I dive deeper and very close I hear the tramp of wild boars on the isthmus. I got out of the ditch wet, and the temperature was zero ... The hunt was gone.

And this incident was almost tragic. We hunted in the area with. Kamenyuki, Brest region. The organizer of the hunt was the foreman of the frontier post Guriy Vasilievich. He was a strong man weighing 110 kg, an excellent hunter, an excellent shooter. The hunt has begun. The numbers are in place, the beaters have moved.

On the probable path of movement of the wild boars were two hunters and then Guriy Vasilyevich. A herd of wild boars came out on one of them, and that, an excellent marksman with an excellent gun, killed two young of the year. Already after the shots at G.V. the cleaver came out. He didn't miss.

The wounded beast turned abruptly and went to the hunter. A second shot rang out, but missed. G.V. hurried, time was lost, and he did not have time to jump aside. The chopper hit him in the legs, knocked him down. G.V. managed to hold the gun at outstretched arms and hold back the onslaught of the boar.

At the same time, the forend and the barrel of the gun were in the boar's mouth. The boar pressed hard, and the hunter stubbornly restrained him. The wild boar suddenly made a strong movement with its head to the side, the belt wrapped around its neck, and, together with the gun, he jerked into the bush.

G.V. the boot was torn, and blood was pouring profusely. The leg muscle below the knee was torn from the bone. He could not get to his feet.

After providing first aid, he was sent by helicopter to Minsk, where the operation was performed, and the hunter recovered a month later.

The wild boar was found dead 300 meters from the scene. A rifle, very much like a twisted poker, lay nearby. The fore-end was literally crumbled, the trunk was bent and so serrated that it was impossible to believe that it was done by the teeth of a wild boar. The gun could not be restored. There have been such cases ...

Basic safety rules on this challenging hunt

You should not tempt fate on this hunt for cowardly hunters, poor shooting skills, undisciplined and frivolous. Such hunters dishonor themselves and let the team down.

The main thing is a good preparation of each team member and a clear organization of the hunt on the part of the leader.

Every hunter should have normal equipment, clothing that does not restrict movement.

I got up to the number - once again check the weapon, give the go-ahead to the neighbors, study your firing sector, determine the distance to the nearest landmarks and stand without the slightest movement and noise. If you break the rules of disguise, the boar will never come out on you.

Any shot can only be fired at a clearly visible target. It is strictly forbidden to shoot at the rustle, noise, at the silhouettes. This can lead to tragedy.

It is necessary to shoot at an animal in a forest or bushes at a distance of 25-30 m with buckshot and a bullet up to 40 m. Compliance with this rule gives hope for success if the hunter gets into a slaughterhouse. Don't hesitate with the second shot. On this hunt, everything is decided in a few seconds.

If the animal is stopped by the dogs in the corral, then the beaters must move it and direct it to the line of shooters.

If there is only one beater, then, by the decision of the head of the hunt, he may be allowed to shoot in a salary.

The hunter, being on the room, should not stand directly on the boar trail, but necessarily to the side of it - 3-4 m. Then he will not have to shoot in the forehead. The main thing is to make a shot in the neck or under the shoulder blade.

If hunting is carried out from the approach, then this is done only if the hunters see each other. It is desirable that no more than two hunters approach the wild boar held by the dogs at the same time.

A lone hunter is prohibited from chasing a wounded boar. Sometimes even a mortally wounded boar ambushes on its trail and suddenly attacks the hunter. This usually occurs in dense thickets. Having let the hunter close, the wild boar attacks rapidly. If the hunter does not have time to fire a shot, then the outcome can be sad for him.

If, after firing, the boar rushes at the hunter, and the gun is unloaded, you should let the boar take 1-2 steps, and then abruptly jump to the side or jump over it.

Most often, the boar makes an attack once and never returns. But he must immediately load the weapon - it is not known what is on his mind!

If every hunter adheres to these basic safety rules when hunting wild boars, then we will avoid sad outcomes.

A useful article against the background of the widespread extermination of wild boar up to 1 individual per 4000 hectares of land, that is, 5-10 heads for a hunting farm.
There is beauty in the mentioned Belarus!

The number of wild boar in Belarus has decreased 48 times in three years

The latest counts showed: now in Belovezhskaya Pushcha there are 112 heads of wild boar, in the whole of Belarus - 1700. According to the Scientific and Practical Center for Bioresources of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, at the beginning of 2013 the population of wild boar in our country totaled 82,900. As a result of intensive measures to “depopulate” the species, declared a potential carrier of African swine fever (ASF), its number in our country has almost disappeared in 3.5 years. In some hunting farms, the wild boar is no longer left at all.

And the war declared to the wild boar continues with him. According to official data, only in the Brest region, about 100 individuals of these ungulates are destroyed every month. In reality, the figure is probably higher. The Kamenets regional organization of the BOOR reported: 64 wild boars were seized in their hunting grounds in November, and 276 heads since the beginning of the year.

      Kill and dispose of

The state encourages wild boar hunting in every possible way. Not only is the hunting permit itself issued free of charge, but also compensation payments are provided for each killed animal. Their size is 7 base values for users of hunting grounds, of which 2 base values (now 42 rubles) are paid directly to a successful hunter. However, this does not really stimulate the hunters, they admit in hunting farms. Earlier, driven hunting for wild boar in Belarus was popular with foreigners, and they were ready to pay big money for it, hoping to get and take away a good trophy. She was especially in demand among Russian hunters who took away the meat they had harvested.

Now there is no such possibility: it is prohibited at the legislative level to take out the carcasses of the shot wild boars from the territory of hunting grounds and eat their meat. All carcasses obtained are immediately disposed of. Necessarily - in the presence of a veterinarian.

“For this, in accordance with sanitary standards, special cattle cemeteries have been built,” our source in one of the hunting farms, who wished to remain incognito, explained to the Brest Green Portal. - As a rule, these are metal containers. The killed animals are stored in them and filled with chlorine ”.

Or maybe the boar is not to blame?

How effective the mass shooting of wild boars is in terms of security for the country, there is still no consensus even among scientists. Doctor of Veterinary Science, Head of the Sector of Hunting and Hunting Fauna Resources of the Scientific and Research Center of Bioresources Yuri Lyakh confirms: so far not a single case of ASF among wild pigs has been recorded in our country.

Recently, the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation disseminated information: out of 3,000 samples of shot and dead wild boars received in October for diagnosis, only 9 were found to have the African swine fever virus. Moreover, the press secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources Nikolai Gudkov officially stated: today "not a single fact of infection of domestic pigs from wild boars has been documented and confirmed" and "the spread of ASF among domestic pigs does not occur due to the transfer from wild boar," noting that this is the consistent position of the environmental agency. And although our eastern neighbors call the decrease in the number of wild boars part of the strategy to combat ASF, this is precisely a reduction in the number, and not a complete depopulation.

“Initially, we also did not have a goal of complete depopulation of the species,” says Yuri Lyakh. - It was about reducing the number of wild boar, especially in areas near large pig breeding complexes. There, we must pay tribute, now put things in order. Small enterprises were closed, and biological protection was introduced on large ones.

In my opinion, there was no need to declare war on the boar. In fact, the pig farms simply covered up their mismanagement with the plague.

When all the norms are observed at the pig farms - keeping, feeding the animals, vaccinating on time - the animals are healthy, their immunity is strong, and they are not afraid of any diseases. "

      "Hardy, mobile and fertile"

The order to exterminate wild boars “without taking into account gender and age, at any time of the day, in the maximum possible number” led to the fact that over 80,000 of these ungulates were exterminated in Belarus in a little over three years. Even information flashed on the Internet: a wild boar in the country has disappeared.

Fortunately, this has not happened yet. Both scientists and the hunters themselves assure that it is impossible in principle to exterminate the wild boar. Moreover, hunting farms, which are thinking about how they will welcome foreign hunters in 5 years, do not have such a desire. Plus the wild boar is a very careful animal. In the same Pushcha it can "lie down" in an absolutely protected area, where not only hunting - any human intervention is prohibited. In addition, this species easily migrates from place to place, including across the border.

“There are areas where wild boars are gone. There is not a single trace. But it took a couple of weeks - and he appeared again, ”- they say in one of the hunting farms.

Belarusian scientists insist: there is no reason to worry about the restoration of the wild boar population in Belarus. They say that the animals will recover on their own and quickly enough if they are left alone. Another thing is that so far there is no talk of canceling the "Temporary Regulation". Perhaps it would be high time. And although the wild boar is not the most attractive animal (it eats the larvae of invertebrates, destroys the nests of birds on the ground and broods of small animals, and it’s not necessary to talk about injuries on farmland), it is a part of the biological diversity of our forests. Without him, they will, of course, become poorer.

Batey and I are accustomed to hunting geese in our native Altai fields, where everything is familiar and familiar since childhood. But this year our Altai leadership has worn out the nerves with the opening of the hunt. After much excitement and agony, the hunt was opened, but only for 3 days, from 12 to 13 April. Well, at least so ...
The vouchers went on sale two days before the opening and there were queues for them. After several hours of waiting, the documents were received. All our hunting scrub was collected a long time ago, it remains to load it into Nivka and move out into the fields.
We left the day before the opening of the hunt, with the goal of determining the place. The drive to the cherished places is not far, about 200 km. The way to the hunting places did not inspire optimism, the fields were covered with snow, the goose was not visible. Arriving in the hunting area, it became clear that we were not at all alone) Wherever we look, there are cars, people are walking and everyone is waiting. After wandering around the neighborhood, we found a place free of snow and decided to stop. We undertook of course thoroughly for the preparation of skradkas, but that was not the case. In previous years, the hunt was opened at the end of April, by this time the ground was warming up and it was possible to calmly dig a trench and mask it, where you consider the most flyby place. In the same year, the ground was frozen and all attempts to dig in were useless. This made adjustments to our placement, we had to move to the edge of the field and dig in the snow. The evening went well with seagulls and barbecue.
Morning has come. They took their places before sunrise and began to wait. We waited diligently for the goose. At night, bouncing overhead was heard almost continuously. And in the morning there is nobody.
An hour after dawn, the world began to stir. Shots began to ring out. The silhouette of geese sometimes appeared on the horizon, but in our direction it was free. Already when disappointment filled all thoughts, a barely noticeable chain stretched from the forest planting, which increased over time. Oh yeah. It's them. 8 pcs. They walked a little to the side, but gradually shifted to my skradok. I was all huddled in the snow and did not breathe. Having passed over his head, he began to shoot. Knocked out 2 geese. There was no limit to happiness. Everything. The hunt was successful. The quota for two is fulfilled. About which I hastened to inform Bath. He was satisfied, because has been going hunting for a long time to communicate with her. With age, I felt sorry for the birds and animals.
But you can't leave after 3 hours of hunting. I took seagulls in a skradok and just watched. There were several more raids, but the geese only got the slits of the camera. After lunch we started getting ready to go home. there was a lot to do. And although the hunt turned out to be short, it brought a lot of positive emotions.
