The menu was painted, groceries were stocked, the place of celebration was decorated, the Christmas tree was decorated, gifts were bought ... But what about entertainment, contests and games for the New Year? Have you prepared them?
If not, then I am in a hurry to help you: one evening I sat over a piece of paper and made various contests and games for the New Year. Figuratively, I called them like this: Horse entertainment for New Year 2014... And they have such a name, because they are all associated with the symbol of the upcoming New Year 2014 - the horse. I tried to arrange and connect all the developments in such a way as to get a full-fledged scenario of the New Year.
Contests and games for the New Year - Year of the Horse
Competition "Horse neighing"
The essence of this competition is not even that the participants will have to imitate the neighing of a horse. And in the fact that you have to laugh (laugh), and laugh so contagiously that all those present will "laugh"
By the way, horses are animals that do not like to live alone, even in the wild they gather in herds. And therefore, this competition with the help of neighing will attract the lady herself to the holiday, and she will treat all those gathered favorably and will patronize them all year.
- So, we called the horse, now we need to find out what this symbol of the New Year 2014 looks like!
Fun game "Draw a horse"
To play you will need: a large sheet of paper, a felt-tip pen and a blindfold (scarf, scarf).
All participants in the game are blindfolded. The presenter brings each one in turn to a sheet of paper and asks to draw:
- horse body;

- legs;
- mane;
- eyes;
- tail;
- etc.
Everyone's eyes are untied, and the presenter says:
- Look at what horse will patronize you this year!

- We need pairs: stallions and their riders + one rider without a horse.
The "stallions" get on all fours in a circle, and the riders dance around them to the music. When the music ends, the rider must saddle the stallion. The one who did not get the horse is eliminated. Together with her, she takes one stallion away. And this continues until there is only one pair-winner. They are awarded a prize with the words:
- This year you can easily achieve your goals, because your path will not be tiring - the horse will gladly give you a lift!
And now the time has come for the last contest for the New Year! It is best done for a large and drinking company.
Team competition "Horse dose"
Both teams line up. Opposite each team, at a distance, there is a stool with a bottle of vodka, a glass and a snack.

Three white horses
A music competition that's perfect for the current New Year 2014.
Option 1. Can be performed in the form of "Battle of the Choirs" with karaoke, one verse from each team. Male Choir, Female Choir, Legal Department Choir, and so on.
Option 2. If there are no singers, we put on a recording of the original performed by Larisa Dolina, and we ask the teams to stage the song in roles. Let them show with gestures how “the houses are a little crumpled”, “warm and damp”, “Winter opened its snowy arms”, “Only Christmas trees in triangular dresses, Everyone is running, running, running towards me,” and, of course, everyone wants to see how the "three white horses" will be taken to the "snowy distance". The roles can be assigned in advance: Houses, Winter, Fir-trees, Horses and the main character, let's call her "Gone by Horses." Something like this…
Brave rider
To be honest, this is a traditional competition for adults and children’s holidays with chairs, but we’ll call all the participants riders, but the chair that temporarily plays the role of a horse must be saddled on time. There is one peculiarity! Boys and men need to sit astride, and girls and women can sideways in the "ladies' saddle".

Best horse
We put all the guests in a large circle (this competition will at the same time help to get people to the dance floor after a gastronomic break), each of us is given an inflated, but not tied ball. To prepare many of these balloons, inflate in advance and insert into plastic stick fasteners. Participants will remove the clamp themselves. You need to write your name on the ball (as an option, draw the horse's face and serial number). The point is that your "horse" will need to be identified later in a deflated state.
Place the prize box in the center of the circle. Now on the count of "three" you need to release the balls, directing them to the center, towards the box. Our balloons are not tied, so it is impossible to guess the flight path. They will randomly fly around the hall. The prize is taken by the one whose deflated ball lands closest to the place where it lies.
To a watering hole
This is a relay race, for which you need to divide the guests into 2 teams. From the props - 2 sticks (1m - 1.2m) and a tray with drinks. If children are involved, of course, only water in small glasses. For adults, the "bar" can be varied.
Now the relay itself. We build two teams at the line. We put the trays on stools, at a distance of 4-5 meters. We give the first participants of the "race" sticks, they need to jump to the watering hole, drink, go back, pass the "horse" to another.
Show jumping
We will not have a rider, a horse and an obstacle course. There will be obstacle dances. We call everyone to the dance floor, turn on the groovy music. You need to move in a circle one after another. But the presenter with the assistant will arrange various obstacles on the way.
For example, we pull the string at chest height so that the dancers have to bend over (like in limbo). On the second lap, the dancing guests must crawl under a rope stretched at a height of 1 m from the floor. On the third lap - step over or jump over (height - no more than 50 cm).
We reward those who managed to perform all tasks with the most grace. Beautiful dance, easy overcoming of obstacles.
Horse racing
Everything is for real! We select 4 participants to participate in the competition, and all the rest will be spectators at the races. Distribute hats to the ladies (these can be funny New Year's accessories, ears, horns, wigs).
We place bets! Each guest needs to decide on which horse he is betting - # 1 or # 2. We write it down.
Now let's get back to our participants. From 4 people by lot, determine 2 who will participate in the races as horses. The other two must prepare the animals for running.
For this you need:
- shoe (pull shoe covers on each horse's leg)
- fasten the bridle (let it be a gauze bandage)
- attach a saddle (a backpack will do or just tie it with a large scarf)
- comb the mane (yes, with a regular comb)
- drink (bring water or another drink in a glass to the horse's mouth)
It is necessary to explain the sequence of actions in advance, but you do not give a "shot" with a New Year's clapperboard, meaning the start, before the race, but before the start of preparation for the races.
The distance needs to be covered very small. Around the tree, for example. It's easy to determine the winner.
Now we call those who made a bet on the winning horse. They all need to do an energetic sword dance.
