Reconstruction
The idea of transforming the Olympic facility into a football arena was laid down at the design stage. After the end of the XXII Winter Olympics, its reconstruction began, for which about 3.8 billion rubles were allocated from the budget.
In order to hold the Confederations Cup at the stadium in Sochi, it was decided to increase its capacity from 40 to 45 thousand seats.
