Papa Alexei is a former wrestler, winner of all-Union competitions. But he admits that in the last 12 years in his life there is only football. Of course, he could not miss the main (so far) international tournament in his son's career. Father foresaw a goal for the Spaniards:

Before the start of the match, Lesha, along with other players, kicked the ball into the stands. Of course, he wanted to give me a gift - he took aim, but almost hit the height. The ball bounced off a post behind me and ended up in the hands of some guy. Well, I think that means he will score in the game. And so it happened.

What did he say after the game?

    Some emotions were smiling).

    - You live next door to the national team. Do you see each other often?

Infrequently. But I understand everything, as a former athlete. They have to think about the game. And I support that their phones are taken away at night. I would generally give just an hour - to write a couple of messages to relatives.

    - Why did Alexey choose football, and not, say, freestyle wrestling?

Lesha started playing sports at the age of four. Went to sections gymnastics, swimming, figure skating. But I have always loved the ball. It used to be that we were walking down the street, and they were playing football nearby - he breaks down and runs towards them. At the age of six, I sent him to the school of the St. Petersburg Smena, where he remained. Recognized as the best striker of the championship of Russia! If only health were all right...

    - Are there many injuries?

No, not much. But at the age of 14, he seriously injured his knee, was out for three months, and then went out into the yard, kicked the ball - and relapsed. Right for the season! Even then he was cunning to me: they say, he unsuccessfully jumped from the horizontal bar.

    - Did he get into the national team at the same time?

Yes, although he was not called up for a long time due to injuries. I remember the first training camp in Krymsk, several hundred children were taken to see it, but Lesha won the selection. Then they didn’t call for a year, and only after he finally recovered, Lekha noticed both Spalletti and Khomukh.

Have you talked to any of them about your son?

No, not with them, not with Villas-Boas. Only with Henk van Stee, who supervised Lesha at the academy. By the way, he often recommends his son Villas-Boas. He sees perspective in him.

    - And the coach himself?

I will answer this way: young footballers need trust. Villas-Boas hasn't let Lesha close to the starting line yet, there are no offers from Zenit-2... but he gets a lot of practice in the junior team.

    - Is that enough?

Of course not. A year later, his contract ends, and probably in the summer, Zenit will offer a new one. But I want my son to play. Money is not as important now as practice.

Suppose Gasilin is offered a contract on the same terms by the middle peasants of the Premier League and the club of the third Bundesliga. Which option will you choose?

To be honest, I do not see any prospects in Russia. Stadiums do not make me happy, I constantly worry about Alexei's health - they play on "synthetics" almost every match! And we have few clubs that have such an infrastructure as Zenit has ... Therefore, Germany is a priority, there are no problems with this - even in the third Bundesliga. In addition, he needs to learn the language, where the process will go faster.

    - Who is Alexei's agent? You?

Now he does not have an agent. We had a bad history...

    - Tell me.

At the age of 16, even before winning the Euro, his son had agents. They put a small stipend, they said that they would negotiate with the clubs, solve medical issues, and supply boots. We rubbed ourselves into trust: we even made friends with families - they came to visit us, and we to them. Everything was fine - well, a couple of times they forgot to transfer the scholarship, but I didn't pay much attention to it.

In 2013, immediately after winning the European Championship, Zenit offered a three-year contract, as well as an additional agreement that spelled out various bonuses. We arrived with my son at the club's office, Lesha signed in the presence of representatives of Zenit, as well as agents.

The next day, one of them calls: "Can we use Lesha's bank account? Zenit owes us money ..." I was wary, but allowed - I repeat, relations with them were friendly.

A day later, they call Lesha directly and say that they need to re-sign an additional agreement. He meets with them and signs where necessary.

A year has passed. Gradually, because of all sorts of little things, our relations with the agents began to deteriorate, and I stopped working with them - the contract with them had just ended. A month ago, Lesha stopped by the office of Zenit to pick up the documents. Brought them home, showed me. I pick up the agreement and see: "Received bonuses for signing the contract." More than 500 thousand rubles! It turns out that the club, in accordance with the agreement, paid the money to his son, and the agent borrowed a card from him and withdrew everything.

    - You studied the first agreement. Wasn't that amount there?

In the first it was not, but in the second it was. Looks like the agents didn't want me to see that figure. But Lyosha did not study anything, signed and left the agreement in the office. So it lay there for two years.

    Have you contacted them yet?

Yes, I called right away. They say: "We got this money for our work." For what? “Zenith” offered lifting him, not agents! And then - why was the money transferred to Lesha's account? I told them that I would not just leave this business - after the European Championship I would do it.

On September 4, he was announced to participate in the Europa League, but until the end of the year he played only for the second team of Schalke 04 from the regional league West, the fourth German division. Gasilin played for Schalke 04 II under special permission from the German Football Federation, as foreigners are not allowed to play for second teams. At the end of the 2015/16 season, he was forced to leave the club due to the Federation's refusal to issue permission for the next season and returned to Zenit, with which the player had a year of contract left.

On September 22, 2016, in the match for the Russian Cup against Tambov, he came on as a substitute for Zenit in the 68th minute instead of Robert Mack. He scored an assist and a violation, for which a penalty was awarded and a yellow card warning was issued.

On February 23, 2017, he signed a 3.5-year contract with Amkar Perm. He made his debut in the first team on March 5 in a match with Ural, coming on as a substitute.

    Team career

He did not participate in the selection for the European Under-17 Championship 2013, but was called by the head coach of the youth team Dmitry Khomukha to participate in the final part, which was held in Slovakia. He played 4 matches at the tournament, reaching the final with the team, where in the penalty shootout it turned out to be stronger than the Italian team, becoming the European champion for the 3rd time in its history. Gasilin's kick in the penalty shootout was parried by goalkeeper Simone Scuffet. He scored his only goal in the group stage match against Italy (1:1).

The Londoners, who played in the minority from the 18th minute after the removal of goalkeeper Jens Lehmann, opened the scoring 10 minutes before the break, but in the second half goals from Samuel Eto'o and Juliano Belletti brought the victory to the Catalans - 2:1.

At the beginning of the second half, Stefan Effenberg equalized from the penalty spot, and the fate of the match was decided in a series of post-match strikes, in which the Bayern players were more accurate.

Fifteen years later, in May 2016, Real and Atlético in the same arena almost exactly repeated the scenario of the game between Bayern and Valencia. The Istanbul Champions League final in 2005 is arguably the greatest in the history of the tournament. The match ended with a score of 2:0 in favor of the Italian club, and José Mourinho, who was working with the Nerazzurri at that moment, became the third coach in history who managed to win the Champions Cup with two different teams (now there are already five of them: in addition to the Portuguese, this Ernst Happel, Ottmar Hitzfeld, Jupp Heynckes and Carlo Ancelotti).

An interesting fact is that in the Milanese final in 2010 there was only one Italian - Marco Materazzi, and he appeared on the field in the 90th minute of the match.

Wembley (London, England). Opened in 2007. Accommodates 90,000 spectators.

The final match of the 2010/11 Champions League, which took place at the new Wembley, in a sense turned out to be home for Manchester United, but this did not help the Mancunians to win the trophy. Led by the trio Xavi-Iniesta-Messi, Barcelona won 3-1.

In 2013, Wembley hosted the first "German" Champions League final between Bayern and Borussia Dortmund. The victory and the cup for the Bavarians was brought by an accurate shot by Arjen Robben, who in the 89th minute set the final score - 2:1.

The score was opened only in the 83rd minute after a strike by the hosts' striker Thomas Muller, but five minutes later the Londoners' attack leader Didier Drogba restored the balance.

The fate of the trophy was decided in a penalty shootout. Bayern again took the lead after Philipp Lahm's accurate strike and Juan Mata's miss, but then the guests' players realized all their attempts, while the German team's players made two misfires. Thus, Chelsea won the Champions League for the first time in its history.

Millennium (Cardiff, Wales). Opened in 1999. It seats 73,930 spectators.

The home arena of the Wales national team was opened at the turn of the millennium, having received the appropriate name, but in 2016 the stadium received a new name - Principality Stadium, which, with a certain amount of fantasy, can simply be translated as "The Prince's Stadium", since Wales is part of the United Kingdom, and the Queen's son Elizabeth II Charles bears the title of Prince of Wales.

But back to the Champions League. The final of the main European club tournament took place here in 2017, and the participants in that match were Real and Juventus. Madrid won 4-1 to win a second Champions League title in a row, and football fans will remember that meeting with the super goal of Turin striker Mario Mandzukic.

Liverpool, who reached the final for the second time in a row, won the match 2-0. In his third Champions League final as head coach, Jurgen Klopp won the trophy.

    Team career

An excerpt characterizing Gasilin, Alexei Evgenievich

At the beginning of winter, Prince Nikolai Andreevich Bolkonsky and his daughter arrived in Moscow. In his past, in his intelligence and originality, especially in the weakening at that time of enthusiasm for the reign of Emperor Alexander, and in that anti-French and patriotic trend that reigned at that time in Moscow, Prince Nikolai Andreevich immediately became an object of special reverence for Muscovites and the center of the Moscow opposition to the government.
The prince has grown very old this year. Sharp signs of old age appeared in him: unexpected falling asleep, forgetfulness of the nearest events and memory of long-standing ones, and the childish vanity with which he assumed the role of the head of the Moscow opposition. Despite the fact that when the old man, especially in the evenings, went out to tea in his fur coat and powdered wig, and, touched by someone, began his abrupt stories about the past, or even more abrupt and sharp judgments about the present, he aroused in all his guests the same sense of respect. For visitors, this whole old house with huge dressing tables, pre-revolutionary furniture, these lackeys in powder, and the last century himself, a tough and smart old man with his meek daughter and pretty Frenchwoman, who were in awe of him, represented a majestically pleasant sight. But the visitors did not think that in addition to these two or three hours, during which they saw the owners, there were another 22 hours a day, during which the secret inner life of the house went on.
V Lately in Moscow, this inner life became very difficult for Princess Marya. She was deprived in Moscow of those of her best joys - conversations with God's people and solitude - which refreshed her in the Bald Mountains, and did not have any benefits and joys of metropolitan life. She did not go out into the world; everyone knew that her father would not let her go without him, and he himself could not travel due to ill health, and she was no longer invited to dinners and evenings. Princess Marya completely abandoned hope for marriage. She saw the coldness and bitterness with which Prince Nikolai Andreevich received and sent away young people who could be suitors, who sometimes came to their house. Princess Marya had no friends: on this visit to Moscow, she was disappointed in her two closest people. M lle Bourienne, with whom she could not be completely frank before, now became unpleasant to her and for some reason she began to move away from her. Julie, who was in Moscow and to whom Princess Mary wrote for five years in a row, turned out to be a complete stranger to her when Princess Mary again met with her personally. Julie at this time, on the occasion of the death of her brothers, having become one of the richest brides in Moscow, was in the midst of social pleasures. She was surrounded by young people who, she thought, suddenly appreciated her virtues. Julie was in that period of an aging socialite who feels that her last chance of marriage has come, and now or never her fate must be decided. Princess Mary, with a sad smile, recalled on Thursdays that now she had no one to write to, since Julie, Julie, from whose presence she had no joy, was here and saw her every week. She, like an old emigrant who refused to marry the lady with whom he spent his evenings for several years, regretted that Julie was here and she had no one to write to. Princess Mary in Moscow had no one to talk to, no one to believe her grief, and much new grief has been added during this time. The deadline for the return of Prince Andrei and his marriage was approaching, and his order to prepare his father for that was not only not fulfilled, but, on the contrary, the matter seemed to be completely spoiled, and the reminder of Countess Rostova pissed off the old prince, who had already been out of sorts for most of the time. . A new grief that has recently been added for Princess Marya was the lessons that she gave to her six-year-old nephew. In her relations with Nikolushka, she recognized with horror in herself the quality of her father's irritability. How many times she told herself that she should not allow herself to get excited while teaching her nephew, almost every time she sat down with a pointer at the French alphabet, she so wanted to quickly, easily pour her knowledge out of herself into a child who was already afraid that here was her aunt she would be angry that, at the slightest inattention on the part of the boy, she shuddered, hurried, got excited, raised her voice, sometimes pulled his hand and put him in a corner. Putting him in a corner, she herself began to weep over her evil, bad nature, and Nikolushka, imitating her sobs, would leave the corner without permission, come up to her and pull her wet hands away from her face, and console her. But more, more than anything else, the princess was distressed by her father's irritability, which was always directed against her daughter and had recently reached the point of cruelty. If he had forced her to bow down all night, if he had beaten her, forced her to carry firewood and water, it would never have occurred to her that her situation was difficult; but this loving tormentor, the most cruel because he loved and for that he tormented himself and her, deliberately knew how not only to insult and humiliate her, but also to prove to her that she was always and in everything to blame. Recently, a new trait appeared in him, which tormented Princess Mary most of all - it was his closer rapprochement with m lle Bourienne. The thought that came to him, in the first minute after receiving the news of his son’s intention, was the joke that if Andrei marries, then he himself marries Bourienne, apparently liked him, and with stubbornness lately (as it seemed to Princess Mary) only in order to insult her, he showed a special kindness to m lle Bourienne and showed his displeasure to his daughter by showing love to Bourienne.
