Trampoline jumping is associated with the Russian fan, first of all, with Alexander Moskalenko and Irina Karavaeva who became the first champions at the 2000 Sydney Games Olympic history of this sport. A lot of water has flown under the bridge since then, but strong jumpers in our country have not died out. On Friday, in the women's competition, medal ambitions were cherished Yana Pavlova, but in the end she was unable to break into the top eight, remaining in the ungrateful 9th place. A day later, two of her colleagues joined the fight - Dmitry Ushakov and Andrey Yudin.

A professional trampoline has a very conditional resemblance to a popular attraction, on which everyone can try their hand at any TSPKIO. In addition to coordination, which seems to be a matter of course for this sport, several other qualities are required here. First of all, a great eye. In the center of the trampoline, although a large cross is depicted, which facilitates the orientation of the athlete, this is the only thing to do. They say that a good jumper must have several pairs of eyes at once, including the back of the head, in order to accurately determine his location in space.

Further - a powerful, inflated back. The specificity of the trampoline lies in the fact that the athlete must enter each element in a strictly vertical position. Only then will the tightly stretched mesh throw you straight up. It is the back that acts as a kind of rudder, which the athlete controls his center of gravity and, accordingly, the direction of flight. As soon as you change the angle of landing even a little, there is a threat to fly away somewhere on the podium. To prevent such a nuisance, an athlete must be insured by a coach with a small mate. If suddenly something went wrong, he immediately throws his lifebuoy at the feet of the ward, thus helping to extinguish the speed.

Finally - strong legs and a well-developed "breath". The entire performance, consisting of ten acrobatic elements of varying difficulty, lasts no more than 20 seconds. But during this time, the legs literally have time to stiffen, and the breath catches. It's not even worth talking about composure and courage. For a trampoline in which athletes fly 7-8 meters into the air, this is a common place.

The nominal leader of the Russian national team was considered Ushakov... Four years ago, he thundered all over the planet, sensationally winning a silver award at the London Olympics. However, since then, the 27-year-old athlete from Yeisk has not achieved great achievements. In individual competitions at the world championships, he has never been able to rise above fifth place, mainly collecting medals in team performances. 20-year-old Togliatti Yudin was in the shadow of a more experienced comrade. However, the insiders argued: this guy is ready to storm the summit. Last year, he first declared himself at the top of his voice, finishing third at the planetary championship in Danish Odense. And this season he became one of the leaders of the World Cup, winning four of its stages at once.

Both Russians overcame the qualification barrier without any problems. Ushakov in two attempts scored 109.180 points and took fourth place, Yudin followed him with 108.725 points. Preliminary tournament won reigning champion world chinese Gao- 112.535 points.

Alas, as soon as the main competition began, trouble happened. Yudin after his second element he landed on the very edge of the net, literally walking with his back on the safety mats. Naturally, the next push-off catapulted him out of the jumping zone - and that was the end of the fight for medals for our athlete. Ushakov went to the platform immediately after a comrade's unsuccessful performance: one could imagine how much effort it cost him to keep his composure. Dmitry performed with dignity, but the mark of 59.525 points allowed him to take only 5th place. The gold medal was sensationally won by the Belarusian Vladislav Goncharov, which until now has never stood on the highest step of the podium. He scored 61,745 points and was ahead of all his rivals.

Belarusian Vladislav Goncharov won gold at the 2016 Olympics in trampoline jumping.

In the final, Vladislav Goncharov received an estimate of 61.745 points and was ahead of two Chinese - Don Don (60.535) and Gao Lei (60.175).

This is the first gold medal of the Belarusian Olympic team at the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro. In addition, for the first time in history, Belarusians managed to win an Olympic award in trampoline jumping. This sport was included in the program of the Games in 2000 in Sydney, the Belarusians were more than once close to getting on the podium, but before that they could not climb it.

20-year-old Vladislav Goncharov is a debutant of the Olympics, but despite his young age, he was considered one of the favorites of the Games. He burst into the trampoline elite in 2014. Since then, the young talent from Vitebsk won Olympic discipline two awards each of the world championships (bronze of the 2014 World Cup and the silver of the 2015 World Cup) and the European championships (gold of the 2014 European Championship and the 2016 European Championship).

The bookmakers named Goncharov's main competitors in the fight for the medals of the Olympics two Chinese - two-time medalist of the Games (bronze-2008 and gold-2012) 27-year-old Don Don and 24-year-old world champion 2015 Gao Lei. At the same time, the bookmakers gave the gold to Gao Lei, and the bronze to Don Don, while the Belarusians gave silver.

The bookmakers' predictions came true - it was this three that dominated, and there was no clarity as to who would get what award until the last seconds.

Although there was one alarming moment in qualifying when my heart skipped a beat. Having brilliantly jumped off the free program, at the very end, during the landing, Vladislav Goncharov came to the very edge of the net and, perhaps, even touched the mats a little. For this, the judges lowered the mark, but it still turned out to be so high (110.090) that it was enough for the second place.

The Chinese Gao Lei (112.535), who has impressively completed his program, won the qualification, the third was Olympic champion London's Don Don (110,050), which had shortcomings.

But in the final, the more experienced Chinese Don Don performed everything almost flawlessly. But Vladislav Goncharov, who came out after him, showed that it was possible even better. The program of the Belarusian was slightly inferior in complexity (17,300 against 17,800), but excelled in the purity of execution (26,400 against 25,200) and in the length of time in the air 18,045 seconds against 17,535). Thus, Vladislav Goncharov secured himself a minimum of silver.

The last to speak, bookmaker favorite Gao Lei offered mind-boggling difficulty (18,400), but his execution failed (23,700). And even the longest flight time (18.075 seconds) could not compensate for this shortcoming. As a result, he moved to the third step of the podium.

Trampoline jumping became an Olympic sport as recently as 2000. For a long time, the trampoline was not perceived as a sports equipment. It was used as an aid for other workouts, many coaches noted the positive psychological charge that jumping training gives. But today the individual trampoline championship takes its rightful place in the program of the Summer Olympic Games.

    Trampoline Competition Calendar

    Schedule:

    • 12th of August. Women Individual: Competition Qualification, Final.
    • August 13. Men Individual: Qualification, Competition Finals.

Each jump is an exercise with at least ten elements. Athletes perform a series of continuous jumps, performing spins, pirouettes and other tricks. To do them requires high coordination and training of the whole body.

The judges evaluate the technique and aesthetic characteristics of the trick performance.

At the preliminary stage, athletes demonstrate mastery of the compulsory program, then they show free exercises, which are evaluated based on the difficulty of the elements and the quality of performance. In the semifinals and finals, only free exercises are performed.

Trampoline jumping is widely used to improve the coordination of movements for astronauts. The exercises performed on this equipment help prepare the body for weightlessness. Jumping is not always a separate sport.

A trampoline is a projectile consisting of a springy mesh and a frame on which it is stretched. Mats are placed along the edges of the trampoline, which can reduce the force of the impact. Some athletes perform in special shoes, others in socks. One exercise consists of ten elements, which can be a variety of somersaults, rotations, pirouettes and other tricks. In the free part, athletes usually present a more difficult program in order to get more points.
