    16.09.2021

The decision of the Chamber of the RFU to resolve disputes at the request of football agent Alexander Starovoitov became a kind of trigger in relation to Rotor. The Volgograd club is deprived of the right to register new players, and this decision of the Chamber may become only the beginning of a whole series of increasingly tougher sanctions against blue-and-blue (something reminds me of it;)). Several days ago we phoned Alexander, the conversation turned out to be quite intense. Moreover, Sasha himself has a certain football past and still plays in the Moscow amateur leagues.

Alexey Pugin was deservedly one of the favorites of the blue-and-blue fans. A non-standard player quickly came to the court in Rotor, even if the lack of a full-fledged football education hindered somewhere. All the same, Lesha is one of the rare in Lately real nuggets. Now Pugin is in favor of the capital's Torpedo. She still hopes to get her honestly earned money from her former club. And he dreams of one day playing for Rotor in front of the Volgograd stands in the Premier League. Alexey spoke about this and many other things in a conversation with a fan under the nickname Malge.

The title of this material sounds extremely relevant today, even more than relevant: "Sergei Nechai: Rotor will try to live within its means, but so that the team feels comfortable."

Among Shokh's new colleagues, there are quite often the first persons of their clubs (the only exception is Gazizov, but in Ufa he is actually also the first person, the president of the club Marat Magadeev is a nominal figure), therefore, it would be more logical to represent Rotor, of course, the president of the club, Sergei Never mind, but here, most likely, Rochus Rohusovich pushed through with his personal authority, multiplied by the former glory of Rotor. How much this will benefit FC - we will, as they say, look.

But the most interesting thing about this story is that it is by no means exceptional. The list of things and items for which football players were bought is wider and more varied than you might imagine.

    Part one. Europe and America

Ian Wright at Crystal Palace. Set of weights
At 21, Wright, the future Arsenal legend, trained as a plasterer and played for the Greenwich Borough amateur club, where he was found by the Crystal Palace scouts. Ian Wright new club offered a "test" contract for a full three months, and his former team received a set of weights for the scales as compensation. The record transfer in Arsenal's history was still six years away.

Ernie Blenkinsop at Hull City. 100 pounds and a keg of beer
For its time, this transaction can be considered almost normal. The England captain of the 1920s was valued at £ 100: not much, but at least it's money.

The funny thing is that the Cadworth Village club did not want to let go of their leader, and only a keg of beer, added to the transfer amount, forced the management to change their mind. Perhaps he removed the bitterness from the breakup.

Hugh McLenahan at Manchester United. Ice cream refrigerator
It seems that in the 1920s, football managers were incredibly resourceful. Second Division club Stockport County had financial problems and put up several players for sale. Then the manager of Manchester United, Louis Rocca (the one who came up with the name of the club) offered a whole refrigerator of ice cream for the Scotsman. The offer was gladly accepted. It may sound strange, but Luis Rocca was the owner of a famous ice cream brand, and Stockport's management hoped to profitably sell the fashionable product. Well, for Manchester United it was a way to save time and money.

Gary Pallister at Middlesbrough. Sports equipment
The Billingham Town Club was very modest. So modest that he did not pay his players and let him go to other clubs not for money, but for footballs, sports uniforms, shoes and so on. In 1989, this is how Gary Pallister left. Middlesbrough got it at the cost of a few ball bags, and five years later sold it to Manchester United for more than two million pounds.

    Z Knight at Fulham. Tracksuits
The young player had the opportunity to move to Fulham for free as his former Division 7 Rushall Olympic could not offer him a contract. But Mohammed Al-Fayed decided that it would be too unfair and handed over 50 kits to Olympic as compensation. Knight then spent eight seasons in London. By the way, he still hasn't finished his career.

Walter Restrepo at the San Antonio Scorpions. Airplane tickets
In January 2014, NASL's Texas-based club San Antonio Scorpions acquired Walter Restrepo from its league rivals Fort Lauderdale Strikers. As compensation, the Texans granted the previous Restrepo team the right to a free flight and free hotel accommodation in San Antonio during the match between the teams.

    Kenneth Christensen in Floy. Shrimps
Semi-professional football in Norway may not be very exciting, but it has other advantages. For example, they know a lot about good food and value it more than money. Christensen's transfer from Windbjart to Floy would be nicely combined with Ernie Blenkinsop's transfer, it's a pity that they are 80 years apart ... Two clubs from the lower divisions of the Norwegian Championship issued the transfer as follows: the striker stood on the scales, then the number of shrimps was measured, corresponding to its weight, and the transition took place. Noted on the spot. The strange choice of currency is explained by a romantic story: Kenneth Christensen wanted to move to Floy to be closer to his girlfriend, and the clubs used his transfer as an excuse for a party. Which also characterizes the Norwegian championship well.

Collins John at Twent. Set of books
The Neiverdal forward was only 17 years old when the Twente scouts drew attention to him. A contract was quickly signed with John, and for breaking the current agreement with Neyverdal, the management of Twente transferred a set of books on scientific topics to the library at the club's football academy.

Franco Di Santo at Audax Italiano. Paint and net for gates
The Argentine striker somehow spent two years at Chelsea, and even now plays for the not-so-weak German Schalke. However, the first professional club of Di Santo, Chilean “Audax”, was not sure about the potential of the junior. A small Argentine football academy was offered to help equip the football field if it released the player. They let go. For "Audax" the procedure cost two nets for football goals and paint for marking the field (about 40 liters).

    Ion Radu at Valcea. Meat
Strange things are happening in the basement of Romanian football. To begin with, Ion Radu's transfer from the Giul club to the Valce club in 1998: Valce paid for the transfer with two tons of beef. The president of "Jiula" sold the meat and paid off the wage arrears to his players.

Mariusz Choara at Regal Hornia. Sausages
Choara's transfer from Arad to the Regal Hornia club (the second and fourth divisions of the Romanian Championship) in 2006 ended sadly: as soon as the footballer found out that he was estimated at 15 kg of sausages, he ended his career. “My teammates started calling me. They offered to go to Germany, because there they will give more sausages for me. These jokes have gone too far. I left the country and moved to Spain, where I found work on a farm, ”said Mariusz Choara. By the way, the story did not end there, since the clubs could not settle the dispute for a long time because of the unreturned sausages.

    Part two. USSR and Russia

Sergey Bodak in Spartak Vladikavkaz. Football uniform
In 1992, barter was the most common thing in all walks of life, including football. Experiencing financial difficulties and not even having money for a uniform, Krylya Sovetov sold their defender to Spartak Vladikavkaz for a set of football uniforms for the entire team. Unfortunately, "Spartak" settled in the form that he had - that is, his own, burgundy. In it, "Wings" played the next season.

    Dmitry Parmuzin at Lada. "Zhiguli"
Lada won the competition for the midfielder against the Krasnodar Kuban. It's just that Kuban offered money for the player, and Lada offered Zhiguli. Although, perhaps, the situation was influenced not by the choice of currency, but by the fact that Dmitry's father Vladimir Parmuzin recommended the team from Togliatti. And the lucky owner of the Zhiguli was Rotor. True, the number of cars remained unknown.

Sergei Nechai at Rostselmash. Combine harvester
After two successful years at Rotor, defender Sergei Nechay moved to Rostselmash, where his first two years were also quite successful. But among other transfers this one was remembered by the payment method: Rostselmash “transferred” an agricultural harvester to the account of the Volgograd team. Hmm, this is Rotor again.

    Akhrik Tsveiba at KAMAZ. Trucks
If Lada paid for transfers by cars, then you don't need a lot of imagination to guess how it solved transfer problems football club KAMAZ from Naberezhnye Chelny. That's right, KAMAZ. In 1993, coach Valeriy Chetverik sent four trucks to Dynamo Kiev for Akhrik Tsveiba. True, the defender stayed at the club for only a few months.

Alexander Zavarov at Juventus. Money, bus and base repair
Dynamo moved to the Italian club in the rank of a star and replaced Michel Platini, so the transfer amount was quite significant. But since we are talking about the peak of the post-perestroika chaos, the matter was not limited to money alone: in addition to five million dollars, Juventus gave Dynamo a bus, several Fiats and repaired the club base. Alas, Dino Zoff's Zavarov did not become the heir to Platini and moved to France two years later.

The fourth division of the championship of Kyrgyzstan. Beer
What English footballers dreamed of 100 years ago has become a reality in Kyrgyzstan. During the season, transfers in the fourth (amateur) division were paid for with beer. The “transfer amount” limit was limited to 10 liters. But then the league changed the name, the rules, and this beautiful idea was somehow lost.

Sergey Vasilievich Nechay(December 10, 1968, Lugansk, Ukrainian SSR, USSR) - Russian footballer, defender.

    Career

He started playing football in Lugansk. Graduated from the local youth football school. In one age group, together with Viktor Onopko, he won the youth championship of the Ukrainian SSR.

The first professional team - "Niva" (Vinnitsa). In 1990 he played for Shakhtar (Pavlograd), from 1990 to 1992 - for Torpedo (Taganrog).

In 1993 he signed a contract with FC Rotor Volgograd. In the first season, Volzhan played 33 matches (2 goals) and helped the team win silver medals in the Russian championship. In the 1994 season he played two matches in the UEFA Cup, in which he scored one goal.

In the summer of 1995, he moved to FC Rostselmash, and the Rostov club paid for the transfer of the player not with money, but with a brand new agricultural harvester.

After completing his career as a football player, he parted with football for a long time, worked at the customs post "River Port Rostov-on-Don", where he climbed the career ladder through all the steps, starting with a junior inspector and finishing as a chief.

    Education

Graduated from Lugansk Pedagogical University. Second higher education received the department "customs" of the Rostov State University of Economics.

On the threshold of DonExpocentre, where the reporting and election conference of the Rostov-on-Don Football Federation was about to begin, the author of these lines encountered Victor Gavrin, at one time led this very federation. It was time then, in the mid-90s, it was hot, life was daring, and conferences were incendiary. On them, including in order to improve the financial situation public organization, it was worth selling entrance tickets - for sure they would have diverged with great success.

These were real shows, which you will not see in every theater: hours-long, hot, with noisy discussions, sometimes reaching fights, sorting out relations and settling scores. Then, almost after midnight, when emotions were thrown out, everything calmed down and the opposing sides each went their own way: some - to celebrate the triumph, others - to experience the bitterness of failure and accumulate strength for new battles.

The Rostov football community was ebullient in those brisk years. Remembering this, Gavrin, stroking his beard, which will become thicker a little more, confirmed: "Yes, there were times!"

Those "performances" have sunk into the hard times lived through. Today everything is going on quietly and peacefully. So much so that it seemed that someone in the hall even took a nap. And some of the speakers from the rostrum could hardly be heard - even the microphone did not help out. The general pacification was periodically exploded only by the phrases of the executive director of the federation Nikolai Meleshko, who, better than any entertainer, announced the consideration of the next item on the agenda. That is who do not need any microphones - the voice is loud, commanding, invigorates instantly.

Three years ago, in an atmosphere of complete unanimity, the President of the Federation Vladimir Sakellarius was elected... But before the end of the four-year term allotted to him in this position, he did not finish working - in October 2017, he took up the most responsible post of the deputy mayor of the city for housing and communal services. And the housing and communal services in Rostov are, you know, a layer that, if you go deeper into it, leaves no time for football. So Vladimir Ilyich went deep. And at the same time he shut down the football club "Quadro", which he had once created. These decisions of his can be regretted, but the choice made by the person must be respected.

I had to call an extraordinary conference, 69 delegates of which unanimously elected the new head of the federation - Sergei Nechai... By the way, this is the first case in many, many years when a former professional footballer took the helm (the previous one in the late 80s was Vladimir Gavrilov, his kingdom is heavenly).

Nechay's candidacy, as in the case of Sakellarius, was uncontested. And why make fuss when a person, as the vote showed, enjoys absolute trust? Ksenia Sobchak with her slogan "against all" would have had nothing to do here.

The Federation Presidium consisted of 15 people: Sergei Nechay, Dmitry Bereznev, Vadim Zhikhartsev, Leonid Kovalev, Nikolai Meleshko, Vladimir Markin, Arsentiy Malakhaev, Valery Sinau, Oleg Vdovchenkov, Anna Tkach, Leonid Minin, Anatoly Zinchenko, Ilya Karmanukov, Alexey Ustenko, Andrey Chernyshov.

This, in fact, is the Nechay team, with the help of which he will implement his progressive (and what else!) Ideas as the head of city football. The people in it, the team, are mostly well-known, who have sufficient authority in the sports community and are capable of real activities, not limited to the conversational genre on the topic “it will be better soon”.

The "heavy artillery" of Don football came to the conference with Nechai - Sergey Andreev and Sergey Balakhnin... Both did not campaign for their football comrade-in-arms - their mere presence in the hall was enough to understand that, having enlisted the support of such confidants, the new head of the federation could not let himself or them down.

The decision to run for the post of chairman of the city federation was not spontaneous for me, - said Nechai. - I am generally aware of the situation in Rostov football, I am aware of those pain points that need to be eliminated. I believe that all together, together, we will do it. It is necessary to continue to develop grassroots football in the city, to further increase the number of competitions, to improve the qualifications of coaches and referees, and to expand the infrastructure. Based on my experience as a football player and functionary, I will try to bring the maximum benefit to Rostov-on-Don football as head of the city federation.

Even before the delegates started voting, Karim Babayev rose from his seat - a regular at conferences since those dashing times, which we recalled at the beginning of these notes. "Can I contact the candidate with a wish?" he asked the presidium. To which he received the answer: "Wait, what if he is not chosen?"

The joke was appreciated in the audience. And the wish was (and Babayev was supported by the entire audience here) that there should finally be unity in Rostov football. Not opinions - that's just the same bad, but relationships. Without squabbles, intrigues, envy and everything that regularly spills out and hinders progress. And if Nechay, with the help of his authority and experience, manages to become a unifying force, it means that he was entrusted with the helm for a reason.
